After qualifying as a general surgeon in 1999, Dr. Tudhope did the two-year vascular fellowship at Pretoria Academic hospital. During this time she also completed the European Endovascular Diploma.
She also initiated the establishment of the first Unit for Peripheral Vascular surgery affiliated with the University of Pretoria with Prof. J. van Marle.
At present she is in private practice in Pretoria, at Wilgers private hospital. A large part of her practice involves minimally invasive endovascular procedures. She does aortic, carotid and peripheral interventional procedures in a large percentage of her patients.
In 2019 Dr Tudhope received a MSc in clinical oncology from the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, as she is actively involved in interventional oncology. The treatment of cancer now includes endovascular interventions such as embolisations, laser and microwave of primar tumours and metastases.
Her interest in the diabetic foot and chronic ulceration of the lower limb continues, and the first multidisciplinary diabetic foot ulcer clinic she started in the private sector in 2003 is still going strong at Wilgers hospital. The expert diabetic foot team at the clinic includes Sr Nellie Lambrechts (wound care specialist) and Helen Robins (specialist diabetic foot podiatrist).
